My A-List Shopping Mall in Riyadh
For an expat woman living in this country, you will find yourself bored in no time. We will burn our calories from working in 8 to 12 hours a day and we'll have 1 to 2 days off per week and for that 24-48 hours you'll surely think of something valuable to do aside from sleeping.Since we are woman safety is our top priority and transportation is the next issue. Female gender in this city has a very limited activities and options. For instance, you wanted to chill out in a cafe and wanted to feel an afternoon breeze, its not possible. No lady is allowed to have her coffee outside. It's only for man. You will find yourself in a secluded table inside the cafe and you will only see four corners of the room with poor lighting for your selfie.Fast forward.. Living here is really strange if you grew up in an open country. It's up to you how you can manage. And since most of us ladies have this implant of shopping addiction, occasional visits to the mall is really our endorphin and source of happiness.
Here are my top list of malls in Riyadh City, Happy Shopping!
1. Riyadh Gallery This was the first mall I went into when I first arrive. It has a very nice interior, well organized shops, and homey feeling. The mall has a fake river, bridge, plants, and even fake animals ( or conserved?) but the sound of water from the fountain is very soothing. It has a huge food court, a grocery store with wide range of products and a lots of food, make, shoes, and accessories shop.
It is still one of my favorite mall and place to relax if I'm burn out from work. In here, you can sit in a cafe near the fake river with flowing water and fountain. It's really a place to stay (the cafe) if you are opt to chill out and feel a fake "outside" atmosphere. Though its fake, but its better than nothing. You can easily access Riyadh Gallery through the several main arteries road in Riyadh City: North Ring Road, Olaya, King Fahad Road, University Road, King Abdullah Road, through Specialist, King Abdul Aziz Road.

2. Kingdom Mall Its a close proximity to many areas plus its a Saudi Landmark. Its one of the mall that I like because of its location. It has affordable and the "high-end brand" stuffs and will suit whatever shopper are you. The food court has limited array of food choices compare with the other malls but if you're really get tired of shopping that will your best fit.

3. Panorama Mall Its a family friendly mall with huge parking area and children activity center. What I love about this mall aside from its location is the food center. It is very spacious and has a lot of food choices. You can go for Arabic, Asian, our usual fast food chains, and to top it all Italian. It has a good Italian Restaurant with good interiors and good food. Shopping-wise, its complete from our usual love brands, Mango, Zara, Bershka, H&M, Gap and a lot more. You could also find Michael Kors, Coach, Longchamp, and more. Cosmetics, they have Sephora, MAC, and what other bands you like. And most of all for tech savvy and bookworm, they have Jarir Bookstore! This mall is so one-stop shop. Shop everything you need, from clothes, shoes, books, gadgets, and make your grocery list for Danube Market. This mall is really my favorite period.
